My client, a successful, forward thinking business based in Shrewsbury is recruiting an experienced Events Executive to join their events teams, to cover a long term fixed contract. Key Responsibilities:
Work as part of the Events team to deliver a programme of events representing the brands
Working closely with the in-house marketing and design team, field teams and third party stakeholders, you will ensure events are a success and delivered within budget
Plan and coordinate events you will manage or attend, including exhibitions & events that take place throughout the UK
Support delivery of hospitality events
Event management through the life of a project, including preparation and management of budgets, timelines and final event reconciliations
Generate new and creative ideas for our events – from content, through to concepts for an exhibition theme
Create and deliver promotional activity to maximise event attendance, seeking opportunities across marketing channels including online and offline media, printed publications, industry websites, company website and various social media sites
Write engaging copy for press releases and other marketing literature to promote our events
Maintain the booking process for events
Update company’s Content Management System (CMS)
Produce and distribute communications internally on the forthcoming timetable of events
Organise sponsorship opportunities with potential event exhibitors to generate income
Liaise with venue-finding agencies to book appropriate event venues and source accommodation for event attendance
Ensure the appropriate materials and equipment are available and packed ahead of each event
Managing online event webinars
Must be flexible, a certain amount of overnight and weekend travel within the UK is required (time back in lieu)
Skills Required:
Educated to a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent
A marketing or event qualification would be desirable
Previous experience working within an events role is essential
Experience of managing events from start to finish is essential
Excellent standard of English, both written and oral
Strong negotiation skills
Competent in IT, including Microsoft Office
Excellent customer service skills
Strong copywriting skills
Driving licence and access to own car is essential
