My client, a successful global consumer brand based in Chester is recruiting an experienced Sales Director to join their forward thinking, fast paced team. If you have a similar senior sales background within a consumer product sector and are looking for a new challenge within a changing market, then this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Managing P&L budget and managing sales team managers to achieve annual revenue targets and operational profit targets with all new and existing customers

  • Structure and implement a solution driven, strategic sales plan that expands customer base

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan to ensure its strong presence, which aligns to marketing strategy and messaging

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships via team managers by partnering with them and understanding their needs

  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the executive team

  • Delegate and inspire team managers to be the day-to-day point of contact for all accounts

  • Build and drive a new sales pipeline and empower your team to focus on developing existing business, with a proactive focus based on account category criteria

  • Effectively communicate strategic value proposition through proposals and presentations alongside your team managers

  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends

  • Report on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts

  • Plan budgets and activities for account management in the company

  • Set up and deliver KPI goals and objectives for the team

  • Provide feedback and counsel to the team

  • Understand customer requirements and needs to offer suitable solutions and generate new business

  • Engaging key customers with brand plans to manage annual delivery programs

  • Developing reports and communicating overall quarterly/annual progress to senior management team

  • Create and support alignment of marketing and sales personnel to channel strategy demands

  • Forecast budgets to target weekly, quarterly, and annually, making necessary recommendations suited to the current marketplace

  • Ensure your teams are collaborative across the business to meet the goals of the business

  • Ensure your departments have effective business matrix to support strategy and effective decision making to meet the business goals

  • Lead, mentor and motivate your teams with effective measurement tools

Skills Required:

  • Educated to Degree level

  • 5+ years’ sales experience in management in a corporate setting (B2C)

  • Possess recent experience working in a global or UK Senior Sales role

  • Must have experience of working in a consumer product sector – preferred

  • Strong sales reporting, financial and budgeting skills

  • Strong organisational, time management and follow-up skills

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Good understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

  • Able to travel to customers, trade shows and events

  • Transformative approach to leadership that inspires and empowers others

  • Aware of the latest market trends and shifts, as well as projections for the future

  • Evidence of ability to innovate and implement change successfully

  • Ability to prioritize high-value tasks and focus under pressure

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
