As the Head of Psychology, you will lead the Psychology and Interventions team and have ownership of the departments strategy, performance and compliance.
As you will be leading a team of Psychologists, ideally you will have management experience and be collaborative with your approach to the wider team.
Role
Leadership of the Psychology and Interventions Team and managing relationships between Psychological Services and other Prison departments.
Membership of the Senior Management Team of the Prison.
Providing specialist advice, input and consultancy to the Prison Management team and across departments.
Providing specialist input to the Parole process and other formal stakeholder meetings and processes.
Leading risk assessments and management for complex, vulnerable or high risk prisoners.
Line management of Senior Forensic Psychologists and Programme Managers within your team.
Supervision of FPIT’s.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
Chartered Forensic Psychologist (BPS); Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
Significant experience post-qualification as a Forensic Psychologist;
Experience in managing people and leading teams.
Supervising Forensic Psychologists in Training
Conducting a range of Psychological assessments, including PCL-r, WAIS, SARA, HCR20, SARN, SRA and RSVP; Writing Parole Reports.
Desirable
Understanding and experience in Offending Behaviour Programmes
Membership of the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).
