My client, a Business Advisory Service & Accounts Practice is looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Audit Support Assistant Manager to join the Shared Service Centre (SSC) based in central Liverpool. This team is one of several Hubs within the companies rapidly growing (SSC).
Overview
The SSC is looking to recruit a qualified (ACA / ACCA) Accountant with experience in Audit Delivery, training and quality frameworks. Specifically, you will oversee and implement the SSC’s Audit Support Hubs internal quality assurance frameworks for existing and new service lines, as it seeks to provide further support to the wider Audit Stream.
This will be a crucial role to help support the growth and evolution of the Audit Support Hub to provide more support to the Audit Stream, and will specifically entail leading on the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hub’s internal quality assurance processes, particularly for new service lines. As the Hub continues to evolve its support to the Audit Stream, the existing portfolio of service lines will expand to include IdeaGen Disclosure Checklist checking and TB Mapping.
The Audit SSC team is predominantly based in Liverpool but also has presence in Glasgow. Your role will be based in Liverpool, and you will be expected to travel to Glasgow as and when necessary. There will also be opportunity to travel to BDO offices nationwide.
Responsibilities
Be a technical expert and advisor to the operational management and sub-teams of the Audit Support Hubs (c160FTE)
Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hub’s internal quality assurance processes, particularly for new service lines
Ensure that the firms’ quality control procedures are adhered to as required
Assist with update, delivery, management, and post-course review for all Audit Support Hub training
Be the key technical contact for key Audit Stream and TSG stakeholders, particularly around the development and approval of internal quality assurance framework and associated training processes
Report monthly to stakeholders across the business on the Audit Support Hub’s Quality based Key Performance Indicators
Build strong relationships across the Audit Support Hub, being the arbiter of quality and technical queries
Support on-boarding of new service lines and other projects
Work extensively within the company’s proprietary audit support systems and processes – including support to process improvement and change management.
Use existing network to engage with senior audit stakeholders in promoting and driving further adoption of service take-up
Requirements
Qualified Auditor (ACA/ACCA) with at least 1-2 PQE
Strong UK GAAP / IFRS knowledge
Prior experience of training delivery
Strong interest in people development and learning
Strong interest in improving audit quality at the firm
Comfortable working independently or collaboratively and able to use own initiative with a particular focus on problem solving skills
